Late 1840’s
George Gibson, Sr. & family (including John Gibson) immigrated to the US from England and settled in Cincinnati OH. Bringing a small French lithographic press with them.
He founded the firm of Gibson and Company, noted for its maps, chromolithographs, engravings, posters, and from 1880, its Christmas greeting cards, endures today as the Gibson Greetings Company.
1859
The firm of Gibson and Company was being run by George Sr’s sons, including John Gibson.
1897
John E Gibson I, son of John Gibson, salesman for J.R.Watkins.
1922
John E Gibson II founded Gibson Merchandise Co. in St Louis MO.
1957
John E. Gibson III joined the sales department in 3M Sasheen (plastic ribbon/bows) Division.
1966
John E Gibson III, salesman for Mobil’s Kordite (plastic films & foam meat trays) Division
1975
John E Gibson IV, salesman for Pawnee Plastics.
1977
John E Gibson IV, salesman selling color concentrates for Reed Plastics. During this time, John won two sales awards for his work.
1982
John E Gibson IV, Midwest Sales Manager for Plastics Color Corporation, a color concentrate supplier.
1985
John E Gibson IV founded JEG Inc. to supply color and additive concentrates, engineering resins, scrap plastics recovery supplier to the plastics industry. John is the owner/president.
2011
John E Gibson V began working with JEG full time.
2024
JEG reevaluates its positioning and narrows its focus on core expertise: additive and color concentrates.
